To reduce the risk of system failure, is it mandatory to have line redundant composition? Please tell us about each Service Provider (JPX, TOCOM, JASDEC, and TFX).

Answer

[JPX/TOCOM]
In order to reduce the risks of AP failure, redundant configuration connecting to both AP1 (or AP3) and AP2 is recommended.
Multicast transmission is not redundant (not rerouted during system failure) as a network. Redundant configuration of receiving from both multicasts 1 and 2 (multiple single configuration via 2 lines) is recommended to secure reliability.
In case having only one line of single configuration, applicants need to understand the risks of choosing non-redundant configuration and write words saying "We shall take responsibility for any risks of not having redundant configuration by self-determination" as the special note on the application form of arrownet SP connection.

[JASDEC]
Redundant configuration connecting to both AP1 (or AP3) and AP2 is required.
Having single configuration to AP2 can be selected only for the line connecting from users' backup site.
