What is the difference between "TSE protocol" and "FIX protocol" for ToSTNeT?

What is the difference between "TSE protocol" and "FIX protocol" for ToSTNeT?
Category :

Answer

[TSE Protocol]
- Proprietary protocol specified by TSE.
- It is a "Query and Response" style for Order Entry.
- Only TSE protocol owns following functions.
1. Available for sending "Data Blocking". (Up to 20 orders, Up to 80 notices)
2. Available to specify two destinations for receiving notices.
3. TSE protocol has a proxy operation. A single Virtual Server can be set up to 3 as the proxy destinations to transmit the Acceptance/Execution-related Notice Messages.
4. For resend function, it is possible for a Virtual Server to output the Acceptance/Execution-related Notices Messages by specifying the sequence numbers.
5. Available to inquiry the sequence number of last order accepted by ToSTNeT with an Administrative Instruction Message. (Definition of the last order should be ensured by the Entry Assurance Message for ToSTNeT.)

[FIX Protocol]
- A global standard protocol based on the FIX V4.4 (Errata).
- Orders are processed after conversion to TSE protocol at TSE Gateway.
- Continuous transmission is available for Order Entry.
- FIX protocol does not have a function of proxy operation, but from TSE protocol Virtual Server can set the FIX protocol Virtual Server as a proxy destinations.
- Instead of resend function, it is available to re-receive the notice messages by specifying the MsgSeqNum on the ResendRequestMessage.

It is possible to modify or cancel the orders across the TSE and FIX protocol Virtual Servers. (FIX protocol Virtual Server modify/cancel the order sent by TSE protocol Virtual Server or other way around.)

Also, TSE and FIX protocol Virtual Servers will receive the Order Acceptance Notice Messages for the modification/cancellation order across both protocols. (TSE protocol Virtual Server modify/cancel the order sent by TSE protocol Virtual Server, the notice message received by FIX protocol Virtual Server is different. It is output "99" in the CIordID of notice message. This will called an OneWay notice.)
